Here are a few Swimming Pool Maintenance Tips to Save you Money!

Repairing Central Florida Swimming Pool & Spa Leaks - Leak Detection Blog | Orlando, Florida | Leak Doctor - ThinkstockPhotos-518779770Check the equipment, pump, pad, heater, pipe valves, filter and the ground for moisture.

Look for any soggy or wet areas around the equipment and pool areas.

Check to see how much water your pool is losing by using a grease pencil or tape and mark the water level at the skimmer. Check back in twenty-four hours, if your pool has lost more than a quarter of an inch of water a leak is evident.

There is also a bucket test to check for water leaks. Fill a bucket with water and place it on the step inside the pool and mark the water level of the pool on the inside and outside of the bucket. The water level should be the same in twenty-four hours, if not it indicates a leak.

With everything in the home that uses water turned off (including the pool), check the water meter. If the meter is registering, it indicates a leak somewhere in the home.
