Locating & Repairing Water and Plumping Leaks in Orlando

In last week's blog we talked about questions our clients ask us about water leak detection and repairing plumbing leaks. We got such a great response we thought  we would share a few more.

Locating & Repairing Water and Plumping Leaks in Orlando - Leak Detection Blog | Orlando, Florida | Leak Doctor - 1(13)How does the Leak Doctor locate a water leak?

The Leak Doctor uses cutting edge technology that combines equipment and techniques developed in-house, as well as the best training available. Equally important is the experience of our technicians, who receive continuous hands-on training at our state-of-the-art training facility.

How can I tell if the leak is inside or outside my home?

Turn the shut-off at your house to the off position. If the meter stopped spinning, this is an indication that the leak is inside the home. If the meter continued to spin, this indicates that the leak is outside the home.

I can hear water dripping behind a wall, why do I need a professional leak detection service?

When water pipes leak, water will travel the path of least resistance and could end up surfacing many feet away.  You don't want to end up tearing into a wall only to find out that isn't where the leak is located. This only adds to the repair bill. Contacting the Leak Doctor ends up saving you money in the long run.

We've had a lot of rain this summer, can you still detect a structural leak in my home?

Yes. Leak Doctor uses infrared technology to locate structural leak problems. Structural leaks can be difficult to ascertain because of the nature of how water travels. That’s why we recommend that you call a professional to locate the source of the water intrusion, before attempting to make repairs on your own.

It is easy to take the water in our homes for granted. We turn on the faucet on and water comes out, we don't give it a second thought.

Unfortunately, the pipes that carry the water to and from our homes and business don't last forever. Over time pipes corrode, fittings break, and leaks in seals develop. Water leaks usually occur in obscure places such as under floors, between walls or in the pipes in the ceiling, this is also where the most damage can occur.

If you suspect a water leak in your home or business, contact the Leak Doctor. We can detect the source of your leak, saving you time and money!
