The Leak Doctor is teaming up with The Environmental Protection Agency to celebrate National 'Fix a Leak Week March 2023 This year’s theme is “Leaks Can Run, but They Can’t Hide”, encouraging consumers to chase down water leaks and protect our nation’s water supply. 

Since a water leak just an eighth of an inch can waste up to 3,500 gallons per day, checking for leaks and being proactive, repairing them in a timely manner, will not only save you money on your utility bill, but you will be conserving one of the world’s most precious resource. • Check your water meter before and after a two-hour period when no water is being used. If the meter changes at all, you probably have a leak.

• Identify toilet leaks by placing a drop of food coloring in the toilet tank. If any color shows up in the bowl after 10 minutes, you have a leak. (Be sure to     flush immediately after the experiment to avoid staining the tank.)

• Examine faucet gaskets and pipe fittings for any water on the outside of the pipe to check for surface leaks.
