Conservation

Our Health-Check is the foundation to establishing a water management program to gain an understanding of how water is used at your facility on a daily basis. During the Health-Check we perform an onsite assessment of the property that includes using sophisticated electronic measuring devices to gauge actual water usage to identify hidden water losses. Call today for more details.

Perhaps Benjamin Franklin said it best, “It is only when the well runs dry that we will know the true worth of water.”  Water is our most precious natural resource, and its conservation is the responsibility of us all.  We have championed the field of water conservation by providing education and resources to utility providers, non-profit institutions, industrial plants and other abundant users of water in an attempt to raise awareness to the increasing amounts of water wasted daily.

The Leak Doctor has also extended our services for public research, legislation and community awareness programs. Follow the easy steps below to preserve our water supply in the future.

TOP 10 TIPS TO HELP YOU CONSERVE WATER
  1.  Survey your property to find leaks and make any necessary repairs.
  2. Check your meter daily and keep a log so you know if your water usage dramatically increases, which is a sign of a leak.
  3. Plant a drought-resistant landscape and water only in the morning or evening when wind and evaporation are lowest.
  4. Check the water supply system for leaks and turn off unnecessary flows.
  5. Shut off the water supply and water circulation to equipment and areas that are unused.
  6. Check water pressure.  Where system pressure is higher than 60 psi, install pressure –reducing valves.
  7. Use water efficient machines that are air cooled rather than water cooled.
  8. Adjust the boiler and cooling tower blowdown rate to maintain TDS at levels recommended by manufacturers specifications.
  9. Install automatic shut-off faucets
  10. Communicate your water conservation plan at meetings and in newsletters.
